Manganese is a curious metal of the “transition” family. It has an extremely high vapor pressure and is rather difficult to make via vacuum-arc casting. However, many of our customers prefer this form to the hot-pressed form, because it has comparitively low oxygen content and high (100%) density. It is also frequently requested in alloy, notably with iron, nickel, or iridium.
ACI Alloys stocks some pure manganese sputtering targets and evaporation pieces for immediate delivery. We can also make many manganese alloys.
